I support the steps that the junior doctors are taking in refusing a contract imposed on them by the Government. Our NHS is in a very shaky state already and alienating a large group of already hard-working doctors is not sensible or fair. I believe the cross party suggestion that the new contract be piloted first in one or two hospitals is a far better approach. Surely the doctors on the ground are far better able to judge whether the system will work, rather than theoretical politicians. I also feel Jeremy Hunt’s high-handed attitude is not helpful.
