KINGSWINFORD'S Michael Rutter returned to Oulton Park in Cheshire last weekend for round seven of the MCE British Superbike Championship.
Rutter, who had lost the front of the BMW 1000RR in Saturday’s race, was unhurt but the bike suffered severe damage providing a challenge for the team to get it race ready for the next day.
With torrential weather predicted for the Sunday, proceedings went ahead as planned but didn’t make for great racing conditions.
Rutter secured two eleventh place finishes and said: “It wasn’t a bad weekend, we got some more points which was good as the conditions were difficult on the Sunday with lots of people crashing.
"Unfortunately, when I crashed on the Saturday, it did quite a bit of damage to the bike which we hadn’t expected. I’m looking forward to Cadwell now which is in two weeks time, it’s always a great bank holiday event, it’s the biggest on the calendar and probably the best place for spectators to watch from."
Bathams Prizewinning Ales will next race at Cadwell Park in Louth from August 23 to 25.
