SWIMMERS from Halesowen travelled to Leamington Spa for the first round of the Mercian Summer League on Saturday, May 3.
From the first event, Halesowen put on a strong show and after the opening relays the team found themselves in a solid second spot. In total the swimmers grabbed 11 individual first places and ran out runners up overall on the night.
Double individual event winners were Daniel Hill in the individual medley and butterfly and, not be outdone, younger sister Lauren in the freestyle and butterfly.
Other event winners were Kitty Luscombe and Ryan Spoor in the breaststroke, Amber Harrison, Max Rollason and Euan Vaughan-Hawkins in the backstroke, Dermot Cameron and Robert Jennings in the butterfly and Ryan Davies in the freestyle. The mens open team also won both medley and freestyle relay events.
