DUDLEY Town missed the opportunity of a mouth-watering FA Cup clash against neighbours Stourbridge after being knocked out of the competition.

The Robins lost 6-0 against Market Drayton at the Dell Stadium last Saturday despite the added incentive of a clash with the Glassboys in the next round.

Chairman Steve Austin says the team were disappointed with the final result but are now fully focused on turning their performances this season into league points, especially against local rivals Dudley Sports, who they face on Tuesday night at Sports' Hillcrest Avenue ground.

Austin said: "It was disappointed to lose but it wasn't unexpected because Market Drayton are two leagues above us.

"The disappointing factor was the nature of the defeat. We went in 2-0 down at half time because we conceded unnecessary goals and then didn't take our opportunities to get level.

"If we'd have taken our chances then the game could have been very different. Then, once the third went in, our heads dropped a little.

"Our main focus now is making sure we get more points on the board in the league.

"We have started well but now need to turn those performances into points.

"There is no better place to start than against Dudley Town. Everyone is looking forward to the game."

Town's aim for derby joy will be boosted by the return of captain Alex Perry for the contest.
