Old Halesonians 19 - 43 Sheffield RFC
OLD Halesonians had a game of two halves against Sheffield after letting a comfortable lead become a crushing defeat.
Early signs were promising in the National League 3 Midlands fixture and Hales quickly took the lead following tries by Carl Robinson, Luke Smith and Ben Barkley with Ian Briggs converted twice for a 19-0 lead.
Sheffield hit back before half time but the home side went into the break ahead 19-5.
However Sheffield came out strongly in the second half and were helped by injuries to Hales' Chris Hooper and Owen Jones.
Barkley and Ben Tibbets then picked up yellow cards and with Hales down to 13 men Sheffield easily took advantage scoring six tries and four conversions in the second half against a depleted home side.
Hales meet Bedford at home this Saturday, kick off 3 pm.
