MANAGERLESS Dudley Town fell into the relegation zone of the West Midlands Premier Division following a 3-1 defeat to in-form Wolverhampton Casuals.

Ashley Horton, who took temporary charge of first team affairs after Andy Allardice left the club last week, couldn't lead his team to victory as the side fell to their ninth league defeat in ten.

In a game which saw midfielder Scott Charly handed a first team debut, Town found themselves 3-0 down at the break. Liam Hughes hit a fourth in the second period before Che O'Connor grabbed a late consolation goal for the visitors.

The result drops The Robins into the relegation zone on goal difference for the first time this season, as Pegasus Juniors were not in league action.

Things do not get any easier for Town this week as they face a visit from league leaders Wolverhampton Sporting on Saturday following a trip to Stone Old Alleynians on Wednesday night in the JW Hunt Cup.

The Robins are still inviting applicants for the vacant managerial role.

Anyone interested in applying for the job should email their CV to the club secretary at davef.dtfc@blueyonder.co.uk.

Despite the current woes of the club’s first team, Dudley Town’s U-11s are celebrating after receiving a new kit.

Stourbridge News:

The kit was presented to members of the team by electricity company Western Power Distribution.

Janine Denton, who works for Western Power and whose son plays for the team, said: “The team are so grateful and seems to be bringing them luck for their home and away games.”
