STOURBRIDGE have been boosted by the return from injury of promising young striker Brandon Hague.

Hague, who came through the youth ranks at Amblecote, is now back in full training and could even feature during this Saturday's FA Trophy clash with Leamington.

The forward has been out since injuring is ankle against Mickleover Sports in September but returns at a key time for the Glassboys.

Manager Gary Hackett said: "Bradon now comes straight back into the equation, which is great for us.

"He did really well at the start of the season, both when starting and when coming off the bench.

"He's worked really hard to get back from his injury and he now gives us another option up front.

"His impact, especially from the bench, is probably something we have lacked recently. He gives the squad much more depth and can big a big player for us now."

Hague's return boosts Hackett's selection options due to loanee Luke Benbow starting a three-game suspension after his dismissal against Workington.

The boss also says he's working hard to bring in at least one more attacking player before the weekend, despite having Matt Dodd back after his ankle injury.

Stour are also keen to get their league form back on track but will have to wait after last Saturday's home game against Farsley Celtic fell victim to the heavy snowfall.

Attention instead turns to the first round of the FA Trophy this weekend.

Hackett added: "The competition is the non-league FA Cup and we want to do well.

"We have had some fantastic battles with Leamington in the past so it's a game everyone is really looking forward to.

"They viewed us as their big rivals during our Southern Premier League days and I think it's a really exciting tie for both clubs.

"Our recent league results haven't been what we would want but we will deal with that when we come to it. There is still a long way to go and a lot of football to be played.

"Now we'll focus on the Trophy and look for a big performance on Saturday."

Defender Jack Duggan remains the only major injury absentee ahead of the weekend.
