HALESOWEN race ace Brad Hughes suffered his first non-finish of the year at Cadwell Park.
The 15-year-old slid off the track at Hall Bends just four laps into the latest round of the Motostar Energy British Championship.
It was a shame as practice and qualifying had gone well for Hughes, meaning he started the race from the third row of the grid.
Heavy rain moments before the scheduled start then saw a delay as riders were allowed to switch tyres.
As the lights went out Bradley got away to a good start maintaining his ninth position on the first lap, at the back of a large group of riders all challenging for second place.
However, his race came to a premature end after just four laps when he slid from his machine at the tricky Hall Bends section.
The result saw Hughes slip a place to ninth overall in the Motostar Cup for young riders, while he is 16th in the overall championship ahad of the next round at Donington Park on September 9.
