GARY Hackett believes Stourbridge can coax the best out of new man Lee Osborne.

The versatile former Halesowen Town and Redditch United man, who can play up front, at left-back and on the wing, has joined from Evesham United.

He becomes the fourth new addition to the Glassboys squad in recent weeks and boss Hackett revealed he has long been an admirer.

He said: “He has always played well against us, he’s always struck me as a player with something about him.

“He has a lot of versatility and, with a good pedigree and I think he will be a good addition to the squad.

“I think he is keen to move his career forward and we think we can get the best out of him.”

Osborne will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game with Chippenham Town, where Stour will look to pick up their first home win in the Southern League Premier for more than two months.

A stoppage time equaliser forced Stour to settle for a 2-2 draw at Cambridge City last weekend, after they had lead 2-0.

Despite a recent run of just one win in nine league games, the Glassboys still sit fifth in the table though Hackett knows they need to start winning sooner rather than later.

He said: “Hemel and Leamington have been very consistent and have built a gap at the top.

“We are in a traffic jam with around ten other teams in the chasing pack.

“Our away form would put us in the top two but it’s the home form which has been a real stumbling block. We have to improve it.

“I can understand why people are getting frustrated.

“A lot of them have seen us steam roll teams in the past and score a glut of goals.

“We have won 8-1 and 5-0 at home this season so we know it can be done.

“I can assure you nobody is more frustrated than me or the players when things don’t go to plan.”
